The Story

“Beyond the threads, lies the story.”

Ekasa began with a deep fascination—one that couldn’t be ignored.

Kente had always sparked something special. The gathering of colors, the precision of patterns, the stories hidden in every weave—it was more than fabric. It was emotion. It was identity. It was Ghana, in its purest form.

But there was a question that kept returning:

Why does something so powerful only show up occasionally?

The Leap

A few years ago, everything changed.

A decision was made to leave behind comfort, quit a job, and move to Ghana with one purpose—to pursue a dream rooted in Kente.

It wasn’t the easiest path, but it was the right one.

Because Ekasa was never just about clothing.

It was about possibility.

Back to the Looms

The journey led back to where it all begins—the looms, the threads, the hands that bring kente to life.

While Kente is widely associated with the Ashanti Region, Ekasa set out to tell a broader story—one that shines a light on the incredible craftsmanship in Northern Ghana.

Today, every Ekasa piece is designed in-house and woven by a dedicated team of talented Northern women. Their skill, precision, and artistry are at the heart of everything we create.

Together, we experiment, innovate, and push boundaries.

From developing the “Dela” stretch kente—something once thought impossible—to engineering lightweight weaves that allow pieces like the OYE dress to flow effortlessly, every collection is a result of curiosity, persistence, and creativity.

Redefining Kente

At Ekasa, we are not just preserving tradition—we are evolving it.

We design for the woman who moves through different spaces effortlessly. The woman who wants culture in her everyday life. The woman who understands that what she wears can be both powerful and practical.

Our pieces are made to be:

·       Worn to work

·       Styled casually

·       Turn heads

·       Start conversations

Because Kente deserves to be seen, felt, and experienced—every day.

Why Ekasa Exists

Because Kente is more than tradition.

Because it deserves movement, evolution, and a global voice.

Because beyond the threads…lies the story.
